European City Breaks Offer Christmas Cheer with Jet2com
Budget airline Jet2.com urged bargain-hunting British travellers to take advantage of its many cheap flights to Europe yesterday and find some great Christmas presents at some of the Continent's top "shopping hot spots".
The cheap flights carrier said that some of Europe's "most beautiful cities" can offer visitors Christmas markets, quirky shops, and fascinating local traditions. This gives UK holidaymakers the perfect excuse for a winter break.
Jet2.com pointed out that not only does it offer cheap fares to a variety of "fantastic destinations", it also offers a 22kg baggage allowance as standard, meaning that shoppers will have no trouble getting their Christmas gifts home safely.
The cheap fares airline offered its own list of top Christmas shopping destinations this year, starting with Rome's Piazza Navona Christmas Market, which takes place between 26 November and 6 January. It features Santa Claus presiding over a host of stalls selling clothes, crafts and delicacies, such as panettone.
Jet2.com offers cheap flights to Rome from Manchester and Leeds Bradford airports.
Prague holidays are another excellent destination for a Christmas shopping city break, thanks to The Old Town Square Christmas Market. This event features a massive Christmas tree from the Šumava Mountains, lavishly decorated, overlooking stalls selling Czech delicacies and traditional souvenirs, along with mulled wine and other treats.
The carrier offers cheap flights to Prague from Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle and Edinburgh airports.
Jet2.com also urged travellers to visit Amsterdam and experience its Christmas festival in the Museum Quarter (Oud-Zuid), complete with market, Christmas lights, arts and crafts – and even an ice rink. The airline's cheap flights to Amsterdam fly from Leeds Bradford Airport.
